Fatal Truck Accidents in California

Southern California is a booming area of California, where many businesses and industries operate. Armored trucks frequently travel the region transporting money and other valuable assets for countless businesses. Armored trucks are designed to be secure and protect the assets inside, and as such are very heavy and sturdy vehicles. They weigh up to 50,000 lbs. or more. Although security is the pinnacle of their job and function, accidents involving armored trucks occur more than one would think. Since the average car only weighs about 4,000 lbs. trucks are much larger, and therefore, when accidents occur between cars and trucks, serious injuries or fatalities often occur.

Large trucks increase California’s already clogged roads and increase the chances of accidents occurring. It is always important to drive carefully and be a defensive driver. It is especially important to use extra caution when around large trucks due to the unpredictability of how the truck driver maneuvers and handles the truck on the roadway. Accidents happen due to frequent stops, distracted driving, speeding, tailgating, driving while fatigued, and impaired driving. Serious truck accidents can also be caused by poor handling during bad weather, debris on the roadway, and slow stopping when braking suddenly.

It is never easy to hear that a loved one has unexpectedly died. However, this is the sad reality that many face when their loved one is involved in a truck accident.
