Truck Accidents in California

Large trucks of all varieties are regularly seen on California’s roads and highways. Delivery trucks are just one of the many large trucks traversing California’s roads. Delivery trucks of all kinds, including FedEx, UPS, USPS, Amazon, and others, deliver millions of packages each day and are an important part of our modern economy and the success of many businesses. Southern California has a thriving economy, and many businesses that operate in the region rely on the trucking industry to deliver their goods to consumers. The surge in online shopping and e-commerce has led to a rapid increase in delivery trucks on California’s roadways.

Delivery trucks, such as Amazon trucks, travel a significant number of miles in one day and are on the road much longer than other drivers. Their drivers work around the clock to deliver parcels to customers each day. The more they are on the roads the more likely it is that delivery trucks will be involved in an accident due to many factors that cause accidents to occur. Some of these factors include the truck’s frequent stops, quick turns, reverse driving if a stop is missed, speeding, reckless driving, or malfunctioning vehicle parts due to faulty maintenance. Because of the large size and weight of trucks, when vehicles are involved in accidents with them, the occupants are likely to suffer very serious injuries, which may leave a lasting impact on their life.

After a truck accident, the insurance company’s main goal is to minimize the amount they have to pay out on a claim. Truck companies have a team of lawyers that are specifically trained to minimize your recovery of damages. Often, they will present you with a lowball offer and will try to persuade and pressure you to accept it. That is why it is best to have a knowledgeable and compassionate lawyer who can defend your rights, has your best interest in mind, and can help you through this process. An attorney can negotiate with the insurance company’s lawyers and will fight to get you the compensation you deserve.
