Lake Forest, CA (June 24, 2022) – One person was killed in a semi-truck accident that took place at a Lake Forest intersection on Thursday morning, June 23.
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the accident happened around 5:15 a.m. at the intersection of Lake Forest Drive and Regency Lane. An SUV was traveling in the area when it collided with a semi-truck due to reasons that are not yet known. The SUV sustained heavy damage as a result of the crash.
Several local responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. A passenger inside the SUV, who has not yet been formally identified, was found unconscious inside the vehicle. The victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV was hospitalized but is expected to be okay.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for an extended period of time after the collision. Police worked to clear the scene so traffic could return to normal.
