California Highway Patrol Investigating Deadly Semi-Truck Collision Involving Bicyclist
MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA (September 1, 2026) – A 61-year-old bicyclist from Yuma, Arizona has tragically died in a Monterey semi-truck accident along Esperanza Road by the intersection of Old Stage Road.
California Highway Patrol is saying that the incident occurred around 2:00 PM on Saturday. The bicyclist was heading down the roadway when they were struck by a Kenworth tractor-trailer truck making a right turn onto Old Stage Road.
The force of the impact knocked the victim to the ground, leaving them with major injuries. Paramedics were called to the scene of the crash to help the innocent victim.
Unfortunately, the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The driver of the semi-truck remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
