Female Pedestrian, 59, Died in Collision With Semi-Truck on U.S. Highway 101 at Orcas Drive in Discovery Bay
DISCOVERY BAY, CALIFORNIA (August 24, 2026) – A 59-year-old woman has tragically died in a Discovery Bay truck accident on U.S. Highway 101 near Forecast Drive.
Contra Costa County officials are saying that the incident occurred around 9:09 AM on Thursday. The female pedestrian may have been walking when she was hit by a commercial truck.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident to help the victim. Unfortunately, she was beyond medical assistance and later pronounced deceased.
The 31-year-old semi-truck driver, who was involved in the crash, remained at the scene and cooperated with police.
There were apparently no signs of impairment at the time of the crash.
